BALLOONS IN THE COLD...

Balloons do not like the cold.   Helium contracts and makes your balloons look like they are deflating. You notice it more with Mylar (foil ) balloons.  Latex balloons adjust, but do get smaller.

If you go back into warmth, they will expand back and puff out your balloons.

If you have an outdoor event with temperatures under 40 degrees, inflate your balloons outside.
I know you don't want to be out in the cold doing this, but if you want your balloons to have a longer float time and stay the right size.  You're going to have to suffer a little or draw straws for that job.

You should not use Mylar (foil) outside.  If they get loose, they may cause problems in eletrical lines.
Plus, most people get a mylars from the food store/dollar store to tie outside.  Blown up in the store, but as soon they're outside, they look deflated. Not a good look for your event.

I have been balloon decorating in Wisconsin for 26 years.  The coldest I've worked outside was 10 degress.  Winter Walk/Run, setting up a large start arch.  3 hours on an early February morning.
Unfortunatly you can not wear gloves tying balloons, so my winter balloon tip: HAND WARMERS!
A couple of bucks is way cheaper then a visit to the ER for finger frost bite.

INFLATE YOUR WINTER FUN !   USE BALLOONS AT YOUR NEXT EVENT!
